Ruud van Leeuwen is a Radiotherapy Medical Physics Expert at Radboudumc since June 2012, specializing in brachytherapy, treatment planning, CT, and total body irradiation, while also responsible for training medical physics residents. Previously, Ruud served as a Medical Physics Resident at UMC Utrecht from June 2008 to June 2012 and as a Senior Scientist at Philips Research from May 2007 to May 2008, focusing on microfluidics, cell diagnostics, and image analysis. Ruud gained a PhD from the University of Leiden while working as a PhD student in the biophysics group at FOM-Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMOLF) from October 2001 to November 2006. Early experience includes a summer internship as a Research Assistant at NATO SACLANT Undersea Research Centre, where Ruud worked on numerical modeling of sound propagation for SONAR. Ruud holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, completed in 2001.
