Robert Trent

Robert Trent is a distinguished Professor of Guitar at Radford University, where a career spanning from August 1993 to the present encompasses teaching, performance, and festival direction. Responsibilities include directing the Radford University International Guitar Festival and instructing courses such as Private Applied Guitar and Guitar Ensemble. As a committed educator, Robert serves as Graduate Program Coordinator, advising prospective students and managing music applications. Renowned as an artist-performer, Robert has performed on four continents and recorded for multiple labels, earning accolades from notable publications such as the New York Times. Career highlights include awards from Radford University and recognition as a prizewinner in Italy’s Concorso Internazional “Arturo Toscanini.” Robert also contributes to the Guitar Foundation of America as Interim Chair and editor of the Soundboard Annual Scholarly Edition, alongside experience as a concert performer and instructor in period performance practice.
