Joe Kastner

CEO and Founder at Radian Generation

Joe Kastner has over 20 years of experience in the solar energy industry. Joe began their career in 2000 as an Engineer at Eley Associates. In 2001, they moved to Nuon as a Project Manager, where they managed commercial scale solar electric installations in four U.S. states. In 2004, they Co-Founded Renewable Ventures LLC, a renewable energy finance and asset management company focused on solar photovoltaic project opportunities. Joe provided technical expertise on all opportunities and was tasked with originating, developing, and analyzing an individual portfolio of new renewable energy project opportunities. In 2006, they became Senior Vice President at MMA Renewable Ventures, where they oversaw teams working in development, implementation, and operation of solar energy projects. In 2009, they moved to Fotowatio Renewable Ventures as Senior Vice President and Technical Director, where they oversaw a team focused on the technical aspects of development, implementation and operation of solar energy projects in the US. In 2010, they became a Principal at RLK Effikenergy LLC. Finally, in 2013, they became CEO and Founder, as well as COO and Founder, at Radian Generation, an independent solar asset management and advisory firm.

Joe Kastner's education history includes four schools. Joe attended Burke Mountain Academy from 1990 to 1993, followed by the University of Minnesota from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a B.ENG. in Mechanical Engineering. Joe then attended Stanford University from 1998 to 2000, where they earned an MS in Energy Engineering. Finally, they attended UC Santa Barbara from 2003 to 2005, where they earned an MESM in Environmental Economics and Policy.
