Jonathan Kornich has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Jonathan started in 2018 as a Summer Research Assistant at DigiPen Institute of Technology, where they worked on a research project related to the Global Electric Circuit (GEC). During this time, they gained skills in soldering, assembling electrical harnesses, and programming and calibrating the magnetometer.
In 2019, Jonathan took on the role of Teaching Assistant and Tutor at DigiPen Institute of Technology, where they graded assignments, quizzes, and lab reports, prepared and assembled equipment, and assisted students during class.
In 2020, Jonathan began their professional career with internships at Tesla and SpaceX. At Tesla, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern, focusing on vehicle chassis controls and impact detection. Jonathan also worked as an Electronics, Firmware & Test Engineer Intern, primarily working on the thermal controller for the Powerwall, Megapack, and Solar Inverter in Energy Products Firmware.
At SpaceX, Jonathan interned twice as a Software Engineer. In their first internship, they worked on the Starlink Flight Software, specifically the satellite's parabolic antenna power control software. In their second internship, they contributed to the next-generation Starlink satellites and gateways, focusing on reducing power consumption, bringing up flight software, and improving ground station site performance in winter.
Currently, Jonathan is working at Radiant as an Engineer, starting in March 2023.
Jonathan Kornich pursued their Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from 2017 to 2021 at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
