David Katz

David is an Operating Partner at Radical Ventures. As a member of the Velocity Team, David provides strategic support and operational expertise for the portfolio companies to help accelerate their development. David is also a member of the Investment Team, where he brings a strong foundation as both an entrepreneur and investor in emerging technology companies, with a deep understanding of the financial services technology and digital health landscapes.

Prior to Radical, David led the transformation and growth of Benecaid, an employee benefits provider for the SMB market. At Benecaid he built Honeybee, a digital distribution and customer acquisition platform for insurance companies in Canada. In 2020, the company was acquired by the Green Shield Canada group.

David started his career as a corporate transactional lawyer before joining InsLogic, an online insurance marketplace provider for financial institutions in the United States. At InsLogic, David led corporate development and partnerships until its sale to Capital OneBank in 2005. After InsLogic, David was CEO of Portfolios.com, where he built one of the largest marketplaces for freelancers serving the global advertising industry. David sold Portfolios.com to EQ Inc. in 2008, an advertising technology company operating programmatic data platforms, where David continued to oversee corporate development, strategy and new ventures.

David earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario (1991) and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School (1995).
