Viral Patel has worked in various medical roles since 2010. Viral began their career as an Emergency Medicine Resident at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai Roosevelt in 2010. In 2014, they moved to Montefiore Medical Center as the Director of Medical Simulation and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine. In 2015, they were appointed Vice Chairman and Director of Operations at NYU Lutheran Department of Emergency Medicine. In 2016, they became the Medical Director at Oscar Health. Most recently, in 2019, they founded and became the CEO of Radish Health.

Viral Patel graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2004 with a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering. Viral then went on to attend UT Health San Antonio, graduating in 2010 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. In 2002, Viral Patel completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
