Joris Roels is a Solution Architect at Superlinear, specializing in designing AI solutions focused on optimization algorithms for various industrial operational challenges. With extensive experience as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Joris has developed artificial intelligence methods for numerous companies, and currently teaches Mathematics at Het Bijlesbureau. Previous roles include Mobility Lab Manager at Be-Mobile, leading a team of mobility data scientists, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at VIB, where Joris developed machine learning algorithms for computer vision applications in biological data and taught courses on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Joris holds a Doctor of Engineering in Machine Learning, a Master of Science in Mathematical Informatics, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Ghent University.
