Shannon Thyme Klinger

Shannon Thyme Klinger has served as a director and has been the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of ModernaTX, Inc. since June 2021. Ms. Klinger served as the Chief Legal Officer of Novartis and Member of the Executive Committee from June 2018 through May 2021, where Ms. Klinger was responsible for the company’s legal, intellectual property and public affairs functions. From April to May 2018, Ms. Klinger served as Novartis’ Chief Ethics, Risk & Compliance Officer and from May 2016 to April 2018 as the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and Global Head of Litigation. Ms. Klinger joined Novartis in 2011 as general counsel for North America at Sandoz Inc. (a subsidiary of Novartis), and later served as General Counsel and Global Head of Legal at Sandoz. Prior to joining the Novartis Group, Ms. Klinger was a partner at Mayer Brown. Ms. Klinger received a J.D. with honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame. Ms. Klinger is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and of the District of Columbia Bar.
