Andres Baptista

Andres Baptista is an experienced architect currently serving as an Arquitecto at Rafael Viñoly Architects since September 2025. Previously, Andres held several key roles at Berkes Group from October 2020 to September 2025, including Jefe de obra for significant projects such as the SUMMUM MEDICINA PRIVADA corporate office building, notable for being Uruguay's first high-rise structure using CLT and MLE. Additional responsibilities included overseeing the construction of Hospital Britanico in Punta del Este and managing the new SUMMUM clinic in Puerto del Buceo, which spans 5,500 square meters. Andres also led educational projects, such as Schools A6, B2, and A5, focusing on planning and subcontracting. Prior experience includes working as an Auxiliar de arquitectura at the Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo. Educational qualifications include a degree in Architecture from Universidad de la República and a Civil Engineering degree with a specialization in Construction, alongside early training in programming from Universidad ORT Uruguay.
