Carla Tuttle has extensive experience in education and volunteer management, currently serving as the Volunteer Engagement Manager at Raleigh Rescue Mission since June 2022. Previously, Carla spent 16 years with Wake County Public School System in various roles, including English Teacher and English Department Chair, where responsibilities included curriculum writing, coaching at-risk students, and managing a team of 20 English teachers. Prior experience also includes teaching at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, where Carla contributed to professional development workshops and served on multiple committees. Carla holds a Bachelor of Science in English, Secondary Education from Appalachian State University.

Raleigh Mission is a viable 501 (c) (3) in Raleigh North Carolina and was founded in 1963 to provide housing, food, clothing and educational support for individuals and families suffering from situational homelessness. The Mission has evolved during the last sixty years and has served hundreds of thousands of Raleigh families. Raleigh Mission has built and grown an ecosystem of incredible volunteers, staff members, donors and families and during the next two years plan on significant expansion and development of programs, facilities and resources, aspiring to be the benchmark for missions and families nationwide. Raleigh Mission leverages critical and credible partners in the Raleigh Durham and Chapel Hills marketplace like Tammy Lynn Center, Green Chair, Salvation Army, Food Bank of NC and Jobs for Life, to name a few. What sets us a part from other missions and organizations is the emphasis Raleigh Mission puts on education and life-skills through our world-class New Life Program and our Child Development Center. These assets support our communities and strengthen our mission to honor Christ.
