Professor Michael Halberthal

Professor Michael Halberthal has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Professor Michael is currently working as an Associate Professor at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology since November 2021. Previously, they held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Rambam Health Care Campus from March 2019, and also served as Senior Deputy Director and Senior Staff Pediatric Critical Care Unit. Professor Michael has held various roles at Rambam Health Care Campus, including Director of Medical Operation and Director of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Unit. Prior to this, they worked as a Resident in Pediatrics at Rambam from 1988 to 1992. Professor Michael has also served as the Chair of the Israeli General Government Managers Forum at General Government Hospital since July 2020. In addition, they have held leadership positions at Israel Medical Association as Chair of Israel Medical Management Society and at International School for Trauma & Emergency Preparedness as Chairman. Professor Michael has also worked as an Assistant Professor (education) at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine from February 2019 to November 2021. Professor Michael gained valuable experience during their fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at The Hospital for Sick Children and in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Royal Brompton Hospital. Professor Michael Halberthal obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology between 1980 and 1986. In 2010-2012, they pursued a Master's degree and a degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Tel Aviv University. Additionally, in 2019-2020, they obtained a Certificate in Directors from Reichman University.
