Iwona Accurso

Iwona Accurso has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and academic sectors. Iwona started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Wollongong in 2016 and then moved on to work as a Psychiatric Registrar (casual) at ISLHD. In 2017, they also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Technology Sydney. From 2018 to 2022, they held multiple roles at the University of Wollongong, including Seminar Leader and Research Assistant. In 2021, they joined Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District as a Psychiatry Registrar, and in 2022, they are currently working as a Psychiatry CMO at Ramsay Health Care.

Iwona Accurso completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology, neuroscience, and medical studies at the University of Sydney from 1997 to 2000. Iwona then pursued a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at the same university from 2000 to 2004. In 2015, Iwona started their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Wollongong, which they completed in 2018. Additionally, in 2018, they obtained a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute, specializing in the field of trauma.
