Thomas Leong

Thomas Leong serves as the Group Chief Strategy Officer at Sime Darby since September 2016, overseeing strategic functions including corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, group communications, mobility, and venture capital investments. In addition to this role, Thomas is a member of the Board of Directors for several organizations, including Ramsay Health Care, Lockton Companies, Harrisons & Crosfield Plc, Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad, and Golden Hope Plantations Berhad. Thomas also served on the Board of Directors for Tesco Malaysia until 2020 and works as a mentor at McKinsey's Youth Leadership Academy. Previous experience includes holding the position of Executive Vice President for Group Strategy and Business Development at Maybank from January 2012 to September 2016. Educational qualifications include an Advanced Management Program from Harvard University, an MBA in International Corporate Finance from the University of Sydney, a B.Sc. in Computer Science from The Australian National University, and ongoing executive education in M&As and Corporate Strategy at INSEAD.
