Stephen joined Baxter Caulfield as a trainee in September 1984 and qualified as a solicitor in October 1986. He became a Partner in the firm two years later, and senior partner at the end of March 2003.
He joined Ramsdens as a partner on 1st October 2015, on the amalgamation of the two firms.
Stephen has advised owner-managed businesses of all sizes and descriptions now for more than thirty years on all aspects of sales, mergers, acquisitions and reconstructions. He likes to call himself a contract draftsman and risk analyst, and has experience of advising in many different sectors.
Along the way, he was a semi-professional musician for 12 years and used to run an independent record label. He is known to play country blues and ragtime songs in public on an acoustic guitar with the least provocation.
Stephen is Chairman of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust which supports young people with cancer through targeted cancer research and support projects to help alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation. Their support is offered to 43 hospitals throughout the UK that treat teenage cancer.
