Ben Lowther

Ben Lowther currently serves as Co-Head of the Generalist Sector Group and Head of Retail in Corporate Finance at RMB - Rand Merchant Bank since October 2022. Prior to this role, Ben was the Managing Director at NOMURA INTERNATIONAL PLC from April 2016 to October 2022, overseeing the EMEA Consumer Retail Group and serving as Co-Head of Investment Banking in South Africa. Ben co-founded Newman Lowther & Associates, a boutique investment banking advisory firm, which operated from June 2005 to March 2016. Earlier career experiences include real estate investment in Cape Town and an associate position at Dresdner Kleinwort, where Ben focused on generalist corporate finance. Academically, Ben holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town, an MBA exchange from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a BSc in Economics & Accounting from the University of Bristol.
