Nkosana Malumba has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Nkosana started their career as a Software Development Intern at Electrum Payments in 2013. From there, they worked as a Private Tutor before joining ACI Worldwide as a Software Engineer in 2015. In 2016, they joined Standard Bank Group as a Software Engineer, focusing on a low latency algorithmic trading platform. Nkosana then moved to Rand Merchant Bank, where they held various roles including Product Manager, Cross Asset and Derivative Structuring, and Credit Analyst. Currently, they are serving as the Research and Development Lead - Blockchain Enabler at Rand Merchant Bank, leading the efforts in Digital Library Technologies and Smart Contract development. Alongside their professional work, Nkosana also had involvement with the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, where they served as both an Association Fellow and a Candidate Fellow, learning and executing ideas with the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Nkosana Malumba completed a short-term course titled "Leading in a Digital Financial Services World" from Emeritus in 2022. In 2016, Malumba received a certification in "Financial Markets and Risk Management" from Peter Skeritt and Associates. In terms of formal education, it is unclear when Malumba attended the University of Cape Town, but they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a focus on Computer Science and Information Systems, as well as an Honours in Computer Science. Malumba also obtained a National Senior Certificate from SSB. Additionally, Malumba holds several certifications, including "The Complete Financial Analyst Course" from Udemy in 2020, "The Streetwise MBA - Culturally Intelligent Leadership" from Commom Purpose in 2019, "Fintech" from Barclays Investment Bank in 2017, "SAFe® 4 Certified Practitioner" from Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2017, and "Associate PRM" from PRMIA - Professional Risk Managers' International Association in 2017.
