Deborah Maher

Deborah Maher has a diverse work experience starting from their role as a Legal Intern at the Westchester District Attorney's Office in 1999. Deborah then worked as a Judicial Intern for The Honorable David G. Trager, United States District Court Judge, Eastern District of New York. Moving forward, they joined Lincoln Center Theater as a Stage Hand and later worked as a Business & Corporate Governance Litigation Associate at Weil Gotshal and Manges from 2001 to 2009.

In 2009, Deborah Maher joined Randall's Island Park Alliance where they held various roles including General Counsel, Vice President & General Counsel, and currently being the President since June 2020. In their current position, they oversee the management, programming, and restoration of nearly 400 acres of City parkland. Deborah works closely with the Board of Trustees to strategize and plan for the future of Randall's Island Park, manages governance issues, develops the board, maintains donor relations, and is responsible for financial planning and budgeting strategies.

Deborah Maher earned their J.D. in Law from New York Law School from 1998-2001. Prior to that, they obtained their B.A. in Journalism from Saint Michael's College, where they studied from 1991-1995.
