Director Of Curriculum And Special Education at Randolph Academy

Kristin Garaas-Johnson, Ed.D has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Starting in 2009, they worked as an English Instructor and Speech Coach in the Thompson Public School District. Kristin later joined AdvancED in 2010 as an Educational Evaluation Team Leader/Consultant. From 2012 to 2016, they served as an English Instructor in Grand Forks Public Schools, where they designed district-wide curriculum, mentored student-teachers, and facilitated professional development on various pedagogical topics. In 2016, they took on the role of Faculty Development Coordinator at Trocaire College, followed by being the Director of the Extended School Day Program at YWCA USA. Kristin then served as Vice Principal for Academics at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, where they ensured academic excellence through faculty support, curriculum mapping, and professional development. In 2018, they worked as an English Instructor at BUFFALO ACADEMY OF SCIENCE CHARTER SCHOOL and later became the Director of Education-Principal at Lutheran Jamestown. Since 2020, they have been the Principal-Supervisor at ERIE 2-CHAUTAUQUA-CATTARAUGUS BOCES SCHOOL DISTRICT. Currently, they are serving as the Director of Curriculum and Special Education at Randolph Academy.

Kristin Garaas-Johnson, Ed.D has a diverse education history. Kristin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from North Dakota State University, graduating in 1999. In 2003, they completed their Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Later, they pursued an EdD in Educational Leadership at the University of North Dakota, graduating in 2014.

In addition to their academic degrees, Kristin also holds several certifications. Kristin acquired an English Language Arts Teaching License from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction in 2009. Then, in 2014, they obtained a Superintendent License and Secondary Principal License from the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. In 2015, they received a Professional Principal License Grades 5-12 from the Ohio Department of Education. Furthermore, they hold certifications such as School District Leader and School Building Leader from the New York State Education Department.
