Barry Griffin

Barry Griffin has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Barry is currently working as a Software Engineer at RapidRatings since November 2022. Prior to this, they had an impressive 12-year stint at HiQ, where they started as a Consultant in November 2006 and worked until August 2018. Barry has also worked as a Software Developer and Scrum Master at Stockholms läns landsting from January 2017 to June 2017 and as a Front-end Developer at Telia Company from August 2016 to January 2017.

In the field of software development, Barry has held roles with significant responsibilities. At Maquet Getinge Group, they developed and refactored system tests for medical ventilators while also mentoring team members in Python development. Barry also created a prototype test environment for testing the GUI subsystem. At Ericsson, they served as a Software Developer and Scrum Master within a refactoring project, gaining expertise in C++, Linux, Scrum, and Test Driven Development. Barry was also a Software Developer at Bombardier Transportation, where their role involved developing a test environment for Bombardier's gateway system for high-speed train networks using Test Driven Python and C++.

Barry's earlier experiences include working as a Game Developer at ACE Interactive, a Software Architect and Developer at Speed Services, and a Software Developer at Forsslund Systems AB. Throughout their career, their expertise in various programming languages and methodologies has been evident, along with their ability to lead teams and mentor colleagues.

Barry Griffin received their Leaving Cert. from PCC Falcarragh in the year 1997. After completing high school, they went on to pursue their higher education at the University of Limerick. From 1997 to 2006, Barry achieved a series of degrees including a B. Eng., M. Eng., and M. Sc. in the fields of Computer Engineering and Music Technology.
