Data Science Portfolio Management at RappiCard México

Carlos Ortiz Gomez has diverse work experience in the field of data science and technology management.

Currently, they are working at RappiCard México as a Data Science Portfolio Management. Prior to this, they worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Principal Data Scientist.

Carlos also has experience as a founding partner and chief technology officer at Kossina Cloud, a data-driven dark kitchen. During their tenure, they led the development of an end-to-end data science platform and implemented modules for sales and production analytics, operations management, client clustering, recommendation systems, market intelligence, and incremental sales analysis.

Additionally, Carlos was a founding partner and chief data scientist at Yoomy Analytics, where they designed and implemented analytics solutions and dashboards for medium-sized restaurant chains.

Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Carlos served as the CEO of AI Patents, a technology management tool and patent search engine that utilized proprietary learning technology. Carlos also held positions at Instituto Nacional de Electricidad y Energías Limpias (INEEL) and Secretaría de Energía, where they contributed to research, talent development, and information and energy studies.

Carlos holds a full-time student experience at Harvard Kennedy School. Carlos also served as the Deputy Chairman on the Boards of the Energy Sector Funds at Fondos Sectoriales Conacyt-Secretaría de Energía-Sustentabilidad Energética e Hidrocarburos and worked as a project coordinator at Alianza FiiDEM.

Carlos Ortiz Gomez has a Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) degree from the UC Berkeley School of Information. Carlos also holds a Master in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree from the University of South Florida. In addition to their degrees, Carlos has obtained a Certificate in Management, Leadership, and Decision Sciences from the Harvard Kennedy School in May 2019.
