Michelle Abad

Michelle Abad is a Multimedia Reporter at Rappler since August 2019, focusing on issues concerning migrant Filipinos, women's and children's rights, and labor, while also covering health, education, social welfare, human rights, justice, foreign affairs, and politics. Prior to this role, Michelle served as a Writer-Researcher under Newsbreak, Rappler's investigative arm, producing explainers and in-depth articles on current issues. Experience at The GUIDON includes roles as Editor In Chief, overseeing all publication operations, News Editor, training staff in story relevance, and as a News Staffer, crafting stories and mentoring new journalists. Early career experience involved an internship at Rappler assisting in investigative journalism. Michelle holds a degree in AB Communication from Ateneo de Manila University.
