Gunnar Sigurjonsson

Gunnar Sigurjonsson serves as the VP of Technology Operations at Rapyd since April 2023, following a notable tenure at Valitor where Gunnar held the positions of Chief Operating Officer, Director of Processing Services, and Head of Software Development from December 2013 to April 2023. Responsibilities included overseeing the operation, development, and support of core business applications, managing cross-functional teams across multiple countries, and guiding software engineers in their career development. Gunnar contributed to the Advisory Board of the Icelandic Centre for Research - RANNIS from September 2016 to September 2021 and worked as an IT Consultant at Advania and Skýrr, as well as a Software Engineer at Kögun Ltd. Additionally, Gunnar has experience as a lecturer in Java programming at Verzlunarskóli Íslands. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Háskóli Íslands.
