Imran Babar

Imran Babar is the current Chief Scientific Officer at the Rare Genomics Institute. Before joining the Rare Genomics Institute, Imran was a Biotech Consultant. Prior to that, they served as the Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer of Tiburio Therapeutics from January 2019 to January 2021. At Tiburio, Imran was responsible for the company's business strategy and operations. Imran also served as the Chief Business Officer of Cydan from April 2018 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for leading Cydan's business development activities. Prior to joining Cydan, Imran was the Vice President of OrbiMed Advisors from July 2013 to March 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading OrbiMed's healthcare investments in the US and Europe.

Imran Babar has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Yale University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Carleton College.

Imran Babar reports to Jimmy Lin, President & CEO. They work with Shikha O'Brien - Director, Business Development, Mark Banuelos - VP, Talent Acquisition, and Kevin Cho - Director, RGDI.
