Laura Kirsop

Head of Product Management at Raspberry Pi Foundation

Laura Kirsop has extensive work experience in the education sector. Laura is currently working as the Head of Product Management at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Prior to that, they were a Director at 1870 Education, where they specialized in product strategy for the education sector and worked with organizations such as the Department for Education and King's College London.

Laura is also the Founder of EdTech Circle, a community for product managers in education. Laura served as a Product Management Subject Matter Expert at King's College London.

In their previous roles, Laura was the Head of Learning Experience and Head of Product Management (maternity cover) at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Laura also held positions at FutureLearn as the Director of Product, Head of Product Management, and Senior Product Manager. Additionally, Laura served as the Managing Director and Growth Captain at Code Club and worked as a Teacher & Computing Lead at Soho Parish School. Laura also gained experience as a Play & Youth Worker at Islington Council and as a Supply Teacher at Protocol Education.

Laura Kirsop has a diverse education history. Laura earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology of Education from UCL, completing their studies from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Education from Goldsmiths, University of London, attending from 2006 to 2007. Laura'sundergraduate studies were pursued at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sociology from 2002 to 2006. Laura also completed their A-Levels at Hills Road Sixth Form College from 2000 to 2002, focusing on Sociology (A), English Literature (A), Religious Studies (A), and Geography (A).

In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained various certifications. In 2018, they completed a course on Introduction to GDPR: General Data Protection Regulation from UCL. In 2015, they received a certification in Managing People: Engaging Your Workforce from the University of Reading. Furthermore, Laura obtained Qualified Teacher Status from the General Teaching Council for England in 2007.
