Rujeko Moyo

Code Club Community Coordinator - England at Raspberry Pi Foundation

Rujeko Moyo has a diverse range of work experience. Rujeko started their career as an Article Writer for AFROMUM, where they wrote articles on the parental role in a child's cognitive development. Rujeko then worked as a Children's Book Reviewer for the Puku Children's Literature Foundation.

In 2016, Rujeko became the Literacy Project Manager for Siyasiza NPO, where they initiated and managed two educational programs focused on literacy, numeracy, and cognitive development for nursery school and foundation phase learners. Rujeko also had financial oversight of the programs and received a grant from the DG Murray Trust.

Rujeko then joined the organization @Carefored as an Initiatives Lead. Rujeko was responsible for managing LEGO/DUPLO play-based learning programs in primary schools and facilitating training workshops for teachers and education professionals. Rujeko also served as a Master Trainer for a national teacher training initiative.

In 2018, Rujeko worked as a Children's Writer for Bookdash, where they had their first official children's book published. Rujeko later joined the Nal'ibali Trust as a Story Writer, contributing to storytelling initiatives.

In 2021, Rujeko worked as a Writer for Cambridge University Press & Assessment for a brief period. Rujeko then became a Community Project Officer at Groundwork, where they delivered the GoPlay Program and coordinated community events.

Most recently, Rujeko has taken up roles at the Raspberry Pi Foundation as a Code Club Community Coordinator for England and at Pearson as a PEIC Young Learners Paper Writer.

Rujeko Moyo's education history is as follows:

In 1999, Rujeko Moyo enrolled at the National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe. Rujeko completed their Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Applied Biology and Biochemistry in 2003.

In 2010, Rujeko Moyo pursued further education at The Academy of Contemporary Music in the United Kingdom. Rujeko obtained a Higher Diploma in Contemporary Popular Music Practice with a major in vocals in 2011.

In 2019, Rujeko Moyo attended the Coady International Institute in Antigonish, Canada. Rujeko obtained a Professional Certificate in Women's Leadership in Community Development.

In terms of additional certifications, Rujeko Moyo obtained a certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the International TEFL Organization in April 2019. Rujeko also completed a course in Child Psychology from New Skills Academy in November 2020. Furthermore, they received a certification in Paediatric First Aid from First Response (First Aid) Ltd in June 2021.

Additionally, Rujeko Moyo earned a certification in Exploring Play from The University of Sheffield in October 2021. Lastly, they hold the title of Candidate Natural Scientist from the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
