Ari Harmaala

Ari Harmaala is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the pulp and paper industry. Currently, Ari serves as the Managing Director at the China Office of Finnish Industries since March 2024. Additionally, Ari has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Raute Oyj since February 2019, a global technology and service company for the wood products sector. Previous roles include Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Development and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Metsä Fibre Oy from September 2011 to June 2024, and President of Metso Paper (China) Co., Ltd from August 2002 to September 2011 during a period of significant economic reform in China. Ari also held leadership positions at Valmet in Southeast Asia and initiated a successful career in the industry starting in 1986 with Enso-Gutzeit Oy. Educational background includes studies at Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
