Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Ravelin

José Henrique Blanco has a diverse work experience. In 2018, they worked as a Data Scientist and Junior Data Scientist at Ravelin Technology. José Henrique also worked as a Data Scientist at The Quarry, where they were responsible for structuring approaches to tackle data-intensive projects, fetching, wrangling and cleaning data using SQL, Python, Pandas and other open source tools. Additionally, they worked as a Data Science Teaching Assistant at General Assembly, aiding students to develop an intuition on the abstract concepts of algorithms and machine learning models, as well as guiding them through the data science methodology. In 2017, they completed the Data Science Immersive course at General Assembly, where they got acquainted with data handling, exploration and transformation, as well as machine learning and network analysis using Python and open source tools. In 2015, they worked as an Intern at BR Petrobras, where they were part of projects that ranged from power generation and energy efficiency to costs optimization. José Henrique also used the company’s database and external data sources to assess the energy market and aid in decision making, as well as enhancing the department’s data pipeline and developing a simple dashboard.

José Henrique Blanco has a B. S. in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, which they obtained between 2011 and 2017. José Henrique also attended a one-year Extension Course on Financial Analysis at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas between 2016 and 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they completed a Full-Time Immersive Course in Data Science at General Assembly. In addition, José Henrique Blanco has obtained certifications from Coursera, including Functional Programming Principles in Scala (2020), Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, and Neural Networks and Deep Learning (all 2018).
