Sam Weiss

Sam Weiss is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and hardware development, currently serving as Head of Hardware and Mechanical Engineer at Ravn since July 2019, focusing on enclosure and thermal design for compact electronics in harsh environments. Prior to this role, Weiss held key positions as Principal Consultant at Purpose Built Drones, Mechanical Engineer at Teal Drones, and Director of Flight Testing and Aircraft Development at Vayu, Inc., where significant contributions were made in UAV design, flight testing, and project management. Notable achievements include leading the successful pilot project in Madagascar and developing innovative UAV designs for medical delivery. Earlier career highlights include roles at Blucraft, LLC, AggieAir R&D, and an internship at Scaled Composites. Weiss holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace emphasis from Utah State University, earned in 2014.
