Through the use of our patented technology, RMC currently recycles more alkaline batteries then any company in North America, and now has the capacity to recycle every alkaline battery sold into the Canadian marketplace on an annual basis. 

RMC’s alkaline technology enables the recovery and reuse of all materials contained in an alkaline battery including zinc, manganese, steel, water, and potassium. These materials account for 86% of an alkaline battery. When waste to energy conversion is factored into recycling rate RMC recycling efficiency reaches 100%. All recovered recycled materials are consumed within Canada and the United States within 500 miles of our facility. No waste is sent to landfill and no materials are sold or exported overseas.

To date RMC has recycled over 100 Million Pounds of spent batteries, and remains committed to including spent household batteries as a part of Ontario’s Blue Box Program, to ensure the destructive practice of land filling a recyclable stream of dangerous wastes and heavy metals is brought to an end.
