Peter Francis

Peter Francis has a diverse work experience in the medical and biotechnology field. Peter is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Medical Officer at Ray Therapeutics, Inc. Peter previously worked at 4D Molecular Therapeutics, where they held various roles including Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Vice President of Clinical & Translational R&D. Peter was also the President and Founder of Pacific Ophthalmology Consulting. Peter worked as a physician at Orion Eye Center and held the position of Chief Medical Officer at RetroSense Therapeutics. Additionally, Peter has experience as a Director at the Translational Clinical Trials Center and as an Editor at Ophthalmology International, Greycoat Publishing. Peter started their career as a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St. Thomas' Hospital in London.

Peter Francis obtained a PhD in Ophthalmology and Genetics from UCL, which they completed between 1998 and 2000. Peter went on to pursue specialized training with a Fellowship in Retina and Genetics at the Casey Eye Institute, OHSU. Furthermore, Peter also completed a Fellowship in Retina at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Medical Doctorate from the University of Southampton. Lastly, they attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology, also from the University of Southampton.
