Jonathan Santelli is Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Raymond James Financial, Inc. (NYSE: RJF) and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Santelli is responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal and compliance functions.
Prior to joining Raymond James in 2016, Mr. Santelli was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of First Republic Bank. Prior to joining First Republic, Mr. Santelli was with Bank of America from 2009 to 2013 where he acted as general counsel for the private wealth management business (including U.S. Trust and Merrill Lynch Private Banking & Investments) and the preferred and small business banking business. Mr. Santelli began his in-house career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in 2000 where he acted as the head of the strategic M&A and private equity counsel group and advised the firm on its sale to Bank of America in 2008. Mr. Santelli started his legal career as an associate at Clifford Chance LLP (f/k/a Rogers & Wells LLP) in New York, where he was a member of that firm’s corporate department and practiced in the areas of M&A, private equity and securities law.
Mr. Santelli obtained his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law in 1996 and his Bachelor of Arts in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in 1993.
