Kerry McComber

Kerry McComber has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 2023, they worked as the Director of Community Affairs at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). Prior to that, from 2020 to 2023, they served as the Chief Deputy for Performance and Policy at the North Carolina Department of Commerce's Division of Employment Security. Kerry also held the position of Director of Government and Public Relations in the same division from 2020 to 2022. Before joining the Department of Commerce, Kerry worked as the External Communications Manager at Wake County from 2016 to 2018. From 2010 to 2016, they held roles at the North Carolina Department of Insurance, including Director of Public Information and Assistant Director of Public Information. Their earlier career includes positions as a News Reporter at WNCN (Media General, Inc.) from 2007 to 2010, at WHBF-TV from 2005 to 2007, and at KCAU Channel 9 from 2004 to 2005.

Kerry McComber attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2000 to 2004, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. During their time at the university, Kerry pursued majors in Journalism and Theatre and also completed minors in German and Gender Studies.
