Aisha Mergaert

Aisha Mergaert, PhD, is a Principal Scientist at Discovery Life Sciences, a position held since June 2023. Prior to this role, Aisha served as Study Director in Toxicology at Labcorp Drug Development from February 2022 to June 2023, where responsibilities included the overall scientific conduct of studies and ensuring GLP compliance. Aisha's academic background includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from September 2014 to February 2022, focusing on high-dimensional single-cell techniques to explore the tumor microenvironment in cancer, and a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology from the same institution, where research identified epitope overlap relevant to rheumatoid arthritis. Aisha began a research career at ReachBio Research Labs as a Research Technologist from June 2012 to August 2014, developing foundational skills in hematology and research. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Knox College.
