Dr. Rudolph Tanzi has had a diverse work experience in various prestigious positions. Dr. Rudolph started working at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1990, where they held multiple roles including Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit, Vice Chair of Neurology (Research), Co-Director of the Henry and Allison McCance Center for Brain Health, and Co-Director of the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease. In 1998, they joined Harvard Medical School as the Joseph P and Rose F Kennedy Professor of Neurology. Dr. Tanzi has also been involved with several pharmaceutical companies, serving as a Scientific Founder at Acta Pharmaceuticals in 2022, Founding Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board at Amylyx Pharmaceuticals in 2014, and Co-Founder of REACT Neuro in 2018 and Marvel Biome in 2019. Additionally, they have pursued other interests, such as being a best-selling author of books including Super Brain, Super Genes, The Healing Self, and Decoding Darkness, and working as a part-time keyboardist for the Joe Perry Project through their involvement with Tanzi Music.
Dr. Rudolph Tanzi has a strong educational background in both the sciences and humanities. Dr. Rudolph obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, General from the University of Rochester between 1976 and 1980. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neuroscience at Harvard University from 1985 to 1990.
