Oscar Sanchez-Mata, Ph.D., is a Senior Additive Manufacturing Research Engineer at Reaction Dynamics since August 2022. Prior to this role, Oscar served as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at McGill University from April 2022 to July 2022, where contributions included designing, leading, executing, and mentoring in research and industrial projects focused on the additive manufacturing of metallic materials. As a Ph.D. candidate at P²[AM]² Lab from September 2016 to April 2022, Oscar conducted in-depth research. An internship in the Research and Development Department at Nemak Monterrey in 2014-2015 provided early industry experience. Oscar earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Engineering from McGill University and holds a degree in Engineering Physics from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The current small satellites market is rapidly growing. There are several new companies that are developing revolutionary technology with space application. However, there is a limited availability of launch opportunities, which adds considerable delay in getting these spacecrafts to orbit. These companies need simple, dedicated and affordable launch services that can accommodate their small size and deliver their satellite to orbit. Reaction Dynamics aims to fill this gap with a simpler approach to rocketry and a proprietary new type of green-propellant hybrid rocket engine that dramatically simplifies and reduces the cost of small orbital launch vehicle.
