Earlier in their career, Hatem worked as a Plastic Surgeon at Plastic Surgery of Palm Beach, where they had clinical privileges at multiple hospitals and surgical centers. Hatem (Tim) was also a board member of a local medical society and breast advisory boards for two local breast centers. Additionally, they served as the medical director of a hospital-based wound care center.

Hatem (Tim) Abou-Sayed MD MBA has an extensive education history. Hatem (Tim) began their academic journey in 1988 at the University of California, Berkeley, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science in 1992.

Afterward, they pursued their passion for medicine and attended the University of California, San Francisco, where they earned their Medical Doctor (MD) degree in 1996. Following their graduation, they embarked on a General Surgery Residency Program at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital, which lasted from 1996 to 2001. During this time, they gained in-depth knowledge and experience in general surgery.

Continuing their specialization, Abou-Sayed completed a Plastic Surgery Residency program at the University of California, San Francisco, from 2001 to 2003. This comprehensive program furthered their expertise in the field of plastic surgery.
