Maxwell Powell

Maxwell Powell is an experienced sports scientist currently serving as the Academy Sports Scientist for Reading Football Club since January 2022. Prior to this role, Maxwell was the Academy Physical Performance Coach at AFC Wimbledon and worked as a Premier League Benchmark Testing Officer with Pro Football Support, delivering standardized testing protocols for athletes aged U9-U23. Maxwell's experience includes an internship as the Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach at Portsmouth Football Club, where responsibilities included designing and executing fitness sessions and conducting performance testing. Additionally, Maxwell has a background in lifeguarding and football officiating and coaching, showcasing strong communication, time management, and decision-making skills under pressure. Maxwell holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in sport-related fields from the University of Portsmouth.
