Nigel Smith

Nigel Smith possesses extensive experience in leadership and project management across various sectors, including sports, military, and education. As the Director of Rowing at Reading Rowing Club since September 2011, Nigel has successfully implemented a significant change management program aligned with a substantial development grant and a strategic five-year plan. Prior to this role, Nigel served as a Project Team Requirements Manager at the RAF, managing a high-value training contract, and spent nearly a decade at the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) as a Research, Strategic Planning and Management Information Manager. Early career experiences include interim management roles in diverse fields and over 16 years of service as an RAF Officer. Nigel holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Salford and a BSc in IT & Economics from The Open University.
