Sergei Kazakov

Sergei Kazakov is the Chief Scientific Officer at RealSeq Biosciences, a position held since July 2023. Previously, Sergei served as Vice President for Discovery Research at Somagenics, Inc. from November 1994 to June 2023, where responsibilities included leading research tools and molecular diagnostics programs, innovating and patenting new technologies, and developing products supported by NIH SBIR grants. Earlier in Sergey’s career, positions included Senior Research Scientist at the University of Virginia and Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University. Sergei holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Bioinorganic Chemistry from Novosibirsk State University and a Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from Moscow State University.
