Gaurav Bharaj has a wealth of experience in the computer science and engineering fields. Starting in 2010, they worked as a Research Engineer at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics. In 2013, they were a Research Intern at Disney Research and in 2015, they were a Visiting Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2016, they were a Research Intern at Adobe and in 2017, they were a Computer Vision & Graphics Intern at Intel Corporation. In 2017, they began working at Technicolor as a Senior Researcher, developing 3D face reconstruction and tracking tools from video data and co-leading a team of PhD researchers. In 2019, they joined The AI Foundation as VP of Research, Director of Research, Scientific Advisor, and Senior Research Scientist. In 2021, they became Co-Founder and Distinguished Scientist at Reality Defender (YC W22) and in 2022, they are currently Chief Science Officer at Flawless.
Gaurav Bharaj completed their Bachelor of Technology - BTech in Computer Science from Punjabi University between 2003 and 2007. Gaurav then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania between 2008 and 2010. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Harvard University between 2012 and 2017.
