Varun Bachalli has a diverse background in computer vision, augmented reality, and autonomous driving. Varun'smost recent role was as a Computer Vision Engineer at Realize, where they worked on an AR application for reconstructing rooms and houses using computer vision and computational geometry. Prior to that, they served as an Augmented Reality and Computer Vision Consultant at Alumnus Software Limited.
Earlier in their career, Varun worked as a Master Thesis Student at the Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM), where they focused on designing a nonlinear model predictive controller for robust velocity control of an autonomous vehicle. Varun also gained experience in the self-driving field as a Student at the Institute for Automotive Engineering (ika), where they worked on sensor data fusion, trajectory planning, and collision avoidance.
Varun has also held internship positions at Terex Corporation, wbk Institut für Produktionstechnik, and Cadvision Engineers Private Limited, where they worked on various engineering projects and gained valuable hands-on experience. Additionally, they served as a Student Assistant at IPEK Institut für Produktentwicklung, where they provided guidance and support to students in the Mechanical Design 4 workshop.
In 2013, Varun interned at Daimler AG, gaining exposure to the automotive industry.
Throughout their career, Varun has showcased their strong technical skills in areas such as computer vision, robotics, data analysis, and mechanical design. Varun is highly knowledgeable in programming languages and tools relevant to their work, such as Python and MATLAB.
Varun Bachalli received their Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where they studied from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) between 2012 and 2015. In addition to their formal education, Varun Bachalli also obtained two certifications: the DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer Specialization from Coursera in November 2022 and the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in July 2022.
