Janelle Somerville

Janelle Somerville has extensive work experience in the field of HR. Janelle is currently the Chief People & Safety Officer at RealNZ, a position they have held since August 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of People & Performance at Wayfare from August 2020 to August 2021. From October 2018 to August 2020, Janelle worked as the Head of People Excellence at Contact Energy Ltd, and before that, they held the role of Business Partner at the same company from June 2016 to October 2018. Janelle also has experience working at BDO UK LLP, where they served as a Senior HR Manager from November 2014 to September 2015, HR Manager from November 2011 to October 2014, and HR Adviser from November 2009 to October 2011.

Janelle Somerville earned a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of Otago from 1998 to 2000. Janelle also holds a certification as a Certified EX Designer from Excellent, which was obtained in 2023.
