Jeffrey T. Leeds

Jeffrey T. Leeds has served as a member of our Board and a member of our Nominating and Governance Committee since December 1999. Mr. Leeds has served as chairman of our Nominating and Governance committee since February 2012. Mr. Leeds is President and Co-Founder of Leeds Equity Partners. Leeds Equity Partners, based in New York, is the oldest and largest private equity firm in the United States focused exclusively on investments in the Knowledge Industries — education, training, and business and information services. Prior to co-founding Leeds Equity Partners in 1993, Mr. Leeds spent seven years specializing in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, a subsidiary of Lazard Group LLC. Prior to joining Lazard Freres & Co. LLC, Mr. Leeds served as a law clerk to the Hon. William J. Brennan, Jr. of the Supreme Court of the United States during the 1985 October Term. Mr. Leeds also worked in the corporate department of the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. Mr. Leeds currently serves on the board of directors of BARBRI, INTO University Partnerships, Knowledge Factor, Medley Management Inc. (NASDAQ: MDLY), Fusion Education Group, Endeavor Schools, LLC and Simplify Compliance Holdings, LLC. Mr. Leeds served on the Board of Education Management Corporation (NASDAQ: EDMC) from June 2006 through July 2015. Mr. Leeds is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Visitors at The Colin L. Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at The City College of New York. Mr. Leeds received his B.A. in history summa cum laude from Yale University and his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. He was also a Marshall Scholar at the University of Oxford.
