Josua Loots

Josua Loots is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Chief Legal Officer at Reapit since March 2024, having previously held the same position at PayProp and Humanstate. With a robust background in international human rights law, Josua worked as a Researcher at the International Development Law Unit, focusing on international financial institutions and development finance. Josua's commitment to human rights is further demonstrated through roles such as Board Member for the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Providers’ Association and Programme Manager for Business and Human Rights at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. Additionally, Josua has managed significant projects for the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights and has contributed as a Research Assistant to the UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions. Academic achievements include a Doctorate of Laws and a Master of Laws, both from the University of Pretoria, accompanied by certifications in Project Management.
