Catastrophe Model Developer at Reask

Ignatius Ryan Pranantyo has a diverse background in catastrophe modeling, research, and tsunami hazard assessment. Ignatius Ryan is currently working as a Catastrophe Model Developer at Reask since March 2022. Prior to this, from January 2020 to July 2021, Ignatius worked as a Research Fellow at Brunel University London. Ignatius Ryan also has a significant experience in the field of tsunami hazard assessment, having served as a PhD student at The Australian National University from June 2015 to June 2020, where they focused on reconstructing the main sources of past tsunamis in East Indonesia and assessing the potential hazards in the region. Before their PhD, Ignatius worked as a Tsunami Hazard Modeler at AIFDR from October 2012 to April 2015, where they co-authored the first national probabilistic tsunami hazard assessment of Indonesia and collaborated with the Geological Agency of Indonesia to build and publish three tsunami inundation maps.

Ignatius Ryan Pranantyo completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Oceanography, Physical at Institut Teknologi Bandung from 2007 to 2011. Ignatius Ryan then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Earth Sciences at the same institute from 2011 to 2012. Following this, Pranantyo obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Tsunami from The Australian National University between 2015 and 2019.
