Emerson Franks has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies. They started their career in 2009 as a Data Entry employee at Murphy and Associates for Microsoft. They later worked as a Content Editor, Web Producer, and Senior Producer/Program Manager with the same company. In 2011, they joined iSoftStone as a Software Developer II, where they served as an SDE Lead for microsoft.com/enterprise and microsoft.com/maps. In 2013, they joined Microsoft as a Senior Software Engineer and later became a Senior Software Engineering Manager, specializing in architecting content scanning platforms on Azure. Transitioning to Turn 10 Studios in 2018, Emerson held several roles, including Senior Software Engineering Lead, Senior Software Engineering Manager, and Principal Software Engineering Manager. Finally, in 2022, they joined Rec Room as a Principal Engineering Lead. Throughout their career, Emerson has consistently demonstrated expertise in software engineering, data management, and leading teams.

Emerson Franks obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Management Information Systems from Washington State University from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2002, they studied Physics and Astronomy at the University of Washington. Emerson also earned an Associates degree in Business Administration from Bellevue College from 1998 to 2000. They have additional certifications in "Accessibility in Action" from Microsoft and "Justice" from edX in 2013 and 2021 respectively.
