KT Kennedy is an experienced Youth & Community Organizer with a focus on education and community support. Currently serving as a Youth & Community Organizer at Recess since April 2022, KT Kennedy also founded and directs Black Education Matters, an organization dedicated to enhancing educational resources for Black students and promoting diversity within curricula. With a strong background in art education, KT Kennedy has held positions such as Elementary Art Teacher at Emerson School and Lead Educator and Curriculum Developer at Brooklyn Children's Museum. Additional roles include Humanity in Action Senior Fellow and various educational positions, alongside a robust academic background with a Master of Arts in Art Education and Community Practice from New York University and a dual degree in History of Art and Urban Studies from the University of Michigan.
