Matthew Noren has extensive experience in the legal field, starting in 2008 as a Legal Intern for Federal Magistrate Judge Margaret Nagle. Matthew then worked as a Summer Associate at Bartle and Geier Law Firm, where they assisted with general commercial and employment litigation. Afterward, they joined Kutak Rock as an Associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Transactions Group, handling commercial transactions and providing counsel on intellectual property rights.
In 2014, Matthew joined LinkedIn as a Commercial Counsel, negotiating and administering commercial contracts while also providing legal advice to the Sales and Marketing teams. Matthew later became a Senior Commercial Counsel, focus on drafting agreement templates and providing ongoing legal advice.
Matthew then moved to Relativity in 2021 as a Senior Managing Counsel, responsible for legal matters related to global commercial, government, and product divisions. This included counseling leadership on policies, managing a team, negotiating contracts, and supporting corporate initiatives.
Currently, Matthew serves as the Head of Legal at Recharge, overseeing the legal team and partnering with senior leadership to drive business outcomes. Matthew handles intellectual property, litigation, and corporate matters, provides executive-level legal analysis, and contributes to policy development.
Throughout their career, Matthew has demonstrated expertise in various legal areas, including contract negotiation, intellectual property, privacy, and information security. Matthew has also gained experience in litigation, M&A due diligence, and streamlining processes to improve efficiency.
Matthew Noren holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, which they obtained from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in History & Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Matthew has obtained various certifications in areas such as goal setting, resilience building, leadership, negotiation, coaching, and conflict competence through LinkedIn. Matthew is also registered with the Illinois State Bar through the ARDC: Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois since 2016.
