Garret Heaton

Garret Heaton is a seasoned entrepreneur and engineer with a strong background in technology and startup development. Currently serving as the Founder of Recheck since September 2023, Garret previously co-founded Podhero, focusing on podcast solutions from June 2016 to March 2021. Garret created the open-source website ec2instances.info, aiding users in comparing AWS EC2 instance types, which was sold to Vantage in 2021. A key figure in the development of HipChat, Garret co-founded the company in June 2009 and managed its growth after its acquisition by Atlassian in March 2012. Earlier experience includes engineering roles at Plaxo, Inc. and co-founding HipCal.com, which gained recognition at SXSW and was acquired by Plaxo. Garret holds a BS in Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, completed in 2007, and a high school diploma from Kimball Union Academy.
