Nicolai Wojke has worked in the field of AI software engineering since 2010. Nicolai began their career as a Software Engineer Parttime at V&R Vision & Robotics GmbH, where they worked on camera calibration, object detection, and a system for construction site quality control. In 2011, they became a Research Associate at the University of Koblenz and Landau, where they led discussion groups and seminars, went to robotics competitions with student teams, and wrote a dissertation on multi-object tracking. In 2017, they began working as a Research Scientist in the Sensor Systems group at the Institute of Transportation Systems at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), where they worked on perception for autonomous driving using cameras and LIDAR as well as video-based object tracking for traffic analysis. In 2019, they became a Computer Vision Engineer at Daimler Mobility Services GmbH. In 2020, they joined Vay Technology as a Principal Perception Engineer and Tech Lead, and then in 2022 they became a Senior AI Software Engineer at Recogni.
Nicolai Wojke completed their Dr. rer. nat. from the University of Koblenz and Landau in 2018. From 2005 to 2011, they studied Computational Visualistics at the same university. In 2008 and 2009, they attended the University of Georgia - Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, where they studied Artificial Intelligence.
